The Walters' Palm Toffee was released in 1984 in cream and red.
The introduction of the 'Palm Toffee' van revealed another change to the body component; a plastic van roof. This type roof can be found on all subsequent Y22 vans.

Livery: (Tampo)
'WALTERS' and 'DELICIOUS CREEMY' in red on both sides of van.
'PALM TOFFEE' outlined on green panel and green figure on both sides of van.
'M.B.WALTERS' in red with 'PALM WORKS ACTON LONDON W3' in green with two green laurels on both cab doors.

Variations/Rarities: It could have a gold plated grile & headlights, front bumper and 24 spoke wheels with blackwall tyres or a chrome plated grille & headlights, front bumper and 24 spoke chromed wheels with whitewall tyres.
The Palm Toffee van can be found with dark green or emerald green tampo to the Palm Toffee emblem on the van sides.

Of Interest: Many collectors were surprised to note that the spelling of the word CREAMY on the transfer of the model is incorrect. This was purpously copied by Matchbox because the wording on the original signwriting of the actual van was also mis-spelt. This must surely be an indication of the lengths to which Matchbox would go to ensure authenticity in the famous Yesteryear series.
